What kinds of aid can I get?

Scholarships and Tuition Waivers

Scholarships and Tuition Waivers provides money that generally does not have to be repaid. It is from a private organization, state, or the University. The donor sets all criteria concerning the scholarship or waivers and these can include academic performance and/or financial need. The Graduate School Web site can provide additional information.

Grants

The Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant  – The Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education, also known as the TEACH Grant, was established to benefit current and prospective teachers and is available as of the 2008-09 school year.

Loans

Educational loans are a form of self-help financial aid. Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid to determine eligibility for educational loan programs. First-time borrowers in the Direct Loan program must also complete Entrance Loan Counseling and a Master Promissory Note.

Direct Subsidized Loans are based on financial need and have annual maximums.  The Direct PLUS Loan, Direct Unsubsidized and alternative loans are based on cost of education minus other financial aid amounts.

Employment

Employment is available through part-time on campus and off campus jobs that are listed through the Student Employment Web site. The Graduate School has information regarding graduate assistantships.
